Abstract
Recently, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) offers the chance for launching a small piggyback satellite, which is developed by private a company and a university. The small satellite of FUKUOKA Institute of Technology was elected for it, which is emitted from KIBO working space in the International Space Station (ISS). The main mission is "high speed transmission of the image date to the ground station." The sub mission is "producing the shining artificial star." We will equip high power LEDs on the surface of the small satellite. Our laboratory mainly takes charge of the sub mission. Another purpose of our study is the development of the control system to track the small satellite. At first we are going to use a CCD camera for the tracking of the satellite. We have compared the sensitivity of the color CCD camera with that of the monochrome CCD camera. The sensitivity of the latter was about twice larger than that of the former.
