Abstract

Current trend of fine ceramics are overviewed, mentioning some success examples of fine ceramics products, classification of ceramics and properties of ceramic materials. As recent topics of ceramics research and development , thermal barrier coating of zirconia for aircraft engine and electric power generation gas turbine, vacuum thermal insulator using ceramic porous structure, titanium carbonitride base cermet for tool materials are introduced.
