Abstract
Dimethyl ether (DME) is a clean fuel because it does not have C-C bond but has oxygen, therefore, it does not emit particulate matter (PM) in combustion. DME doesn't choose its source and it can be used for many kinds of utilizations such as boilers, gas turbines, cookers diesel engines and H_2 carriers. "Multi-source and multi-use fuel" is the great advantage of DME as a next generation fuel. The Green House Gas (GHG) emitted from DME in the total life cycle is the lowest of the other synthetic fuels made from natural gas. At the moment, we, human should grapple with not only countermeasure of global warming but also dispersion of risks together. In this article, a possibility of DME as a next generation fuel is reconsidered.
