Abstract
Articular cartilage cells are constantly submitted to mechanical stimulation such as compression, tensile and hydrostatic pressure. According to previous studies, it is known that when chondrocytes are loaded by hydrostatic pressure within the physiological range, biological and mechanical properties of cartilage tissue are improved. Still, the mechanism underlying cell differentiation and proliferation under hydrostatic pressure have not been clarified. In this study, we aim to clarify the signaling pathways activated in bovine chondrocytes under dynamic hydrostatic pressure.
