Abstract
Cross-Flow Fan can discharge large flow late by axially extending it even if the fan size of the radial direction is small. And it is possible to install this fan in a long and narrow space. Therefore, it has been widely used by the air conditioning machine and cooling fan, etc. However the fan performance decrease by the scale effect is larger than that of other fans. Then, cross-flow fan may not follow the similarity law, which can be applied for many other types of fans. In this study, we investigate the performance decrease with the miniaturization by the results of the performance test and the CFD analysis. This paper describes total pressure coefficient and internal flow of Cross-Flow Fan. Under the similar geometrical casing, we clarified the influence of Reynolds number and impeller diameter using an impeller of five kinds of outer diameter.
