Abstract
Some windbreaker plates for the Cross flow-type wind turbine were tried numerically by 3-D LES analysis. The aim of this study is improvement of negative torque in returning blade. The rotor is constructed by 16 blades (chord length are 15.5% of diameter). The equations are discretized by Finite volume method for space and Fractional step method for time. As a result of analysis, the best shape was flat plate, and its increase rate for the maximum power coefficient was 40%.
