Abstract
In this study, evaluation of degree of electrolyte membrane for PEFC was performed using the strength of membrane obtained by a micro slurry-jet erosion (MSE) test. The electrolyte membrane was deteriorated by immersing the hydrogen peroxide. As a result of the MSE test, it was found that the strength in the thickness direction of the degraded electrolyte membrane was uniform. This result was suggested that the chemical degraded uniformly in the thickness direction. The change in the strength obtained by the MSE test occurred in 6 h immersion time, it was earlier than in the case of the viscosity is a chemical indicator. This result was suggested the MSE test had high detection accuracy of the degradation for the electrolyte membrane.
