Abstract
A touch screen display can create many buttons on software. The buttons can be set freely on the display, such as color, shape, position, number. Therefore, an intuitive interface which suited the user and the purpose of use can be always shown. However, if the touch screen display is not viewed, the place to touch is not known. On the other hand, some buttons on hardware can recognize a position and shape by touch. In this paper, an airbag type tactile display for touch screen display is developed. The airbag type tactile display is installed on the touch screen display, expands with air by a compressor, and presents some transparent convex parts to a tactile sense. The PC shows video picture on the display and it can acquire x-y coordinates because a user pushes the touch screen display along with the airbag type tactile display. This system can be installed freely buttons on software and which can be presented highlights of buttons on hardware.
