Abstract
In our previous works, an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based approach for solving a railway rolling stock planning for passenger trains has been proposed. Conventional studies, including ours, did not address the planning problem with combine and split of trains. This paper proposes a new approach based on ACO to the planning problem with combine and split of trains. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through a numerical experiment with an instance problem of real railway line.
