Abstract

This paper deals with the vibration quenching problem of the one-degree-of-freedom system with a limited power supply. The main system is forced by centrifugal force of rotating unbalance, and the system is quenched using a Hula-Hoop and a motor to assist its rotation. In consideration of practical use as vibration control device, it is required that the device works stable performance even in the case of fluctuating external force. Therefore, in this paper, varying the voltage supply to the power source motor, follow-up performance of the device was examined by the numerical analysis and the experiment. As a result, the followings were made clear; the device using Hula-Hoop follows well in the fluctuation of rotational speed of power source motor and in the sudden change of the rotational speed also, then it quenches the vibration of the main system well. By assisting the rotational torque of Hula-Hoop using assistant motor, Hula-Hoop follows better and quenches the vibration of main system than the case without assistant motor.
