Abstract

Commonly, the specific speeds of centrifugal pumps are 100 to 400. The low specific speed makes the pump efficiency decreases, moreover, the fluid viscosity in the range of low flow rate makes the pump performance decreased. Generally, the positive displacement pump is adopted in the range of low specific speed. However, the turbo pump is demanded in a variety of industrial fields, because that structure is simpler and smaller than positive displacement pump. As a result, it is revealed that straight and curved vane have almost same pump efficiency under high viscous fluid, and there are suitable relation between vane height and impeller diameter.
