Considering roadmaps to advance safety, reliability and efficiency of energy components

- Trial promotion of bridges among social needs and underlying technologies -

Abstract

Materials and mechanics division of JSME recognizes necessity to reinforce bridges among social needs and underlying technologies in the material mechanics field. One of promotion example is a roadmap to synthesize technologies into social needs in chronological order. As typical social needs which cover wide area of materials and mechanics division, safety, reliability and efficiency of energy components were picked up. Furthermore, above needs were broken down into such concrete needs as (1) steam power plant and high efficient combined cycle power plant, (2) multi-scale and multi-physics analysis, (3) applied informatics material strength technology, (4) life time and residual life evaluation and life cycle management and (5) safety and reliability of nuclear plants.
