In this research, tribological properties of the TiAlCrSiN/CrN coated steel was investigated by a 3 ball-on-disk friction tester under lubricated condition and Micro Slurry-Jet Erosion (MSE) tester. The specimens were coated the TiAlCrSiN / interlayer / CrN layers (No. 1) or the TiAlCrSiN / multilayer / CrN layers (No. 2) on the cold work tool steel by the arc ion plating method. In case of the 3 ball-on-disk test, No. 1 specimen showed friction coefficient increased at 80 m. No. 1 specimen was separated into several layers. On the other hand, No. 2 specimen showed friction coefficient constant 0.12 until 1000 m. In case of the MSE test, No. 1 specimen showed eroded surface was large. The depth of eroded surface reached substrate. On the other hand, No. 2 specimen showed eroded surface was small.
