Foamed metal is three-dimensional network metal of porous such as a sponge. The formed metals have many unique properties, such as lightweight property, sound absorbability, and shock absorption. And so the materials come into action to industrial products. However, the strengths of the formed metal are lower than of rigid materials. In this study, a locally foamed Al alloys are fabricated using “re-heated method.” The re-heated method can spread bubbles in the formed metal more particularity than simple casting method. First, availability of the locally foamed metal in a piston are verified using CAE simulation. Second, the locally foamed Al alloy are produced using re-heating method. And so, a heat radiation property of the local foamed Al alloy is evaluated. Finally, the strengths of the rigid part in the foamed Al alloy are considered by a tensile test. According to these simulation and experimental results, an availability of the locally foamed metal are shown in the heat radiation performance and the tensile strength.
