Abstract

In “Sado”, one of the representative of Japanese traditional culture, it is said that there is a purpose to rise the mind of “Omotenashi” and to calm the mind and cultivate the spirit. Now the idea that the mind settles down by Japanese tea ceremony is common in Japan, but there are few studies to clarify it. In our research whether the mind calming down or not about participants of the Japanese tea ceremony was examined. The heart rate measurement was performed to 25 participants with 5 groups, and R-R intervals was obtained. From R-R intervals, tone and entropy was calculated. As a result, there was a tendency that the mind calming down in almost subjects in all groups.
