In general, a low-cost FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer has been used for manufacturing a display-only product, a prototype for verifying interference between parts within a device, etc. On the other hand, it is known that the FDM 3D printer is rarely used to manufacture kinetic mechanical parts. This is because the mechanical strength of parts manufactured with FDM 3D printers is not well understood. In this paper, we clarify the mechanical strengths of FDM 3D printed parts by a tensile test.
