The basic of the inherently safe design measure for design.

Abstract

ISO 12100 which defines the safety of machinery shows a methodology for risk reduction. The first step for risk reduction of this methodology is called "inherently safe design measure ". The description of the “inherently safe design measure” can be classified into the "structure-based measures" and the "control system-based measures”, but the "control system-based measures” are hard to imagine though. In this paper, first it introduces the outline of "inherently safe design measure" and next introduces fundamental thinking of "control system-based measures”.
