Abstract

Innovative casting method was proposed to fabricate clad metal of aluminum alloys by casting. Property of this method was solidification of the molten metal which has higher solidification temperature than the other alloy by the molten metal of the other alloy. A1050 and ADC12 (A383) were used. The solidus line of the A1050 was higher than the liquidus line of the ADC12. The molten metal of the ADC12, which temperature was lower than the solidus line of the A1050, was poured on the solidifying ingot of the A1050. Contacting surface of the A1050 was Semiliquid or liquid. The molten metal of ADC12 solidified the semiliquid metal or the molten metal the A1050, solidified and was bonded with the A1050. The interface between the two aluminum alloys was clear. It was looked from the result of the line analysis that there was no diffusion sonen. The two aluminum alloys were connected strongly. The property of this method is that the molten metal solidified semiliquid metal or molten metal of the other alloy.
