Abstract

Development of a technique to accurately measure thicknesses of rotating parts in real time in high precision processing of axially symmetrical shaped part is required. In this research, measurement precision in thickness measurement by laser ultrasonic method on the surface of the aluminum alloy cylinder was examined. The thickness measurement tests based on the propagation time method and the resonance method were carried out using the aluminum alloy flat plate and the cylinder as the test object. Furthermore, the thickness measurement test was conducted when the cylinder rotates around the axis, and the presence or absence of the influence of the rotation of the cylinder on the wall thickness measurement accuracy was investigated.
