Flow characteristics of a rectangular jet with tabs have been experimentally investigated using the flow visualization using oil mist, two-component hotwire anemometry and thermocouples. Delta tabs were installed at a rectangular nozzle exit due to the passive control of a rectangular jet with an aspect ratio of 2.2. The effect of the slant angle of tabs which were changed at α = 45°, 90° and 135° on the mean and fluctuating velocities, and mean temperature was examined. The experiment was carried out for Reynolds number of 9,000. In the case of a rectangular jet with delta tabs, the decay of centerline mean velocity and temperature, and the spread of jet were prevented by the streamwise vertical structure. Particularly, the rectangular jet with a α = 45° tabs has the long potential core length, and the small spread of the jet as compared to the jets with α = 90° and 135° tabs.
