Abstract

In recent years, communication robots which play with children have been developed. Some robots introduced novelty that children don’t get tired of playing with robots. However, because a concern of children based on the novelty attenuates with time, a design of children-robot interaction of affinity such as affection and relief is required. In this study, we focused on the effectiveness of pupil response to enhance affinity, and designed an interaction for improving affinity for play robots. In addition, the possibility of improving affinity for play robots was demonstrated experimentally.
