In 2003, Tasukaru Tower was first developed in Japan, as refuge facilities installed at the coastal area and flood plains for an aging populated area, having difficulty to take a refuge on a high rise advance to a hill. It is a steel reinforced concrete, at which in 2006, Kyoto University disaster prevention research center carried out studies into tsunami wave power. Through extensive local studies on geology, geography, flood water depth, and potential number of evacuees, we are able to suggest ideal sizes and shapes for the Tower. At the end of March 2018, installed the 46th facility by the local government and private enterprise.
