Abstract

To improve a rising time of a controllable force by using an electromagnetic damper, a command voltage is parametrically self-vibrated to a power generator in advance when the command signal is input. The electromagnet damper comprises with a ball screw mechanism and the direct drive DC power generator which makes the device more compact and efficient. Electrical residences are connected to the generator in the delta-connected winding, and solid state relays are inserted to the circuit. The force and signal voltage to the SSR were measured under a constant speed test such as a triangle wave. From the test results, the rising time with self-vibration was increasing about 30 % in average comparing with conventional method without self-vibration. Finally, it is obvious that a sensitivity of the damper can be improved.
