Development of Basketball’s Display Device by Kosen Students

Abstract

We reported the activity contents in graduate study that five students of Kobe city college of technology worked on as a practice example of the engineering education in 2018. The purpose of study is development of a display device using image recognition technology that is available in a basketball game. Table officials support the progress of a game as well as referees in an official game of basketball at high schools and universities. The display device which we suggest can communicate the information of match score and fouls by analyzing movements of a referee and a basketball using image processing technology. OpenPose and TensorFlow were used in image processing technology mainly.
