The theoretical formula of bending stiffness derived in the past study was modified, and its effectiveness was evaluated through the comparison with numerical analyses. Theoretical and analytical values were in good agreement when the beam lengths were long. However, the values had some errors when they were short. This is because the theoretical formula was derived based on Bernoulli-Euler theory. The relationship between bending stiffness and torsional stiffness was confirmed in order to obtain the optimum cross-sectional shape that has both high bending and low torsional stiffness. From the relationship, it was found that a beam with a high height and a short width has a high bending and a low torsional stiffness.
