Motion Analysis of Dances by an Expert and Beginners

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to clarify the motion characteristics of Korean traditional dances by analyzing the motions between Korean dance experts and beginners. Firstly, basic dance patterns of Korean dance experts and beginners are recorded on video. Then, with OpenPose, a deep learning-based estimator, the skeletons of Korean dance experts and beginners are detected. We analyzed and compared the body joints coordinates extracted from OpenPose using dynamic time warping.
