Abstract

In the present paper, we investigated the unsteady thermal fume using a 1/15 scale model tunnel with a longitudinal gradient and a heat gun. Using jacks, a model tunnel was provided with a longitudinal gradient of 0 to 3%, and the thermal fume was compared with and without the gradient. It was found that even if the heat source, the thermal fume arrival time was fast and the thickness was thick as the longitudinal gradient were large.
