In the development of transmissions for automobiles, it is necessary to understand the oil behavior and incorporate it into the initial design so that oil lubrication can be performed appropriately. For that purpose, it is important to visualize the oil behavior under various usage environments and establish a model-based development utilizing fluid simulation. However, there is a limit to the conventional method of making visualization holes and investigating local oil behavior. In this research, in order to solve this problem, we have developed a device that combines a medical X-ray computed tomography (CT) and a drive tilting device, and succeeded in visualizing the oil behavior in three dimensions.
