Abstract

This paper investigates Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) in numerical simulation by COMSOL Multiphysics. Four kinds of rotor structure of IPMSM, V-shape type, straight shape type, inner forward curve type and outer forward curve type, are proposed and investigated to reduce torque ripple of rotor. Comparison of their torque performance are carried out. It was found that V-type rotor structure shows best torque performance in the same condition of stator. Furthermore, one customized application case is developed and confirmed for designing rotor structure conveniently.
