Abstract

One of the mechanisms invented by Sakichi TOYODA was the automatic shuttle change mechanism. In 1903, Sakichi invented the push-up automatic shuttle changer (basic type). In 1909, he invented a pushing-slider type automatic shuttle changer (basic type), in 1924, it was improved and the Toyota Automatic Loom (Type G), which had the world's highest performance non-stop shuttle change system at the time, was completed. In order to operate the automatic shuttle change mechanism, in addition to the mechanism that replaces the shuttle, a mechanism that detects the remaining amount of weft thread and a mechanism that sends a signal to change the shuttle work together. Improvements were made to each mechanism, and the G-type automatic loom was completed. We will discuss and report on the changes in technology of these mechanisms, improvements, etc.
