Abstract
In this paper, the lock-in phenomena in vortex induced vibration are taken in to consideration. Three methods are investigated. First is the nonlinear numerical simulation by using the Iwan-Blevins oscillator model. Second is by Griffin et al. Third is computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. The comparison between three methods is performed. The range of lock-in phenomena taking the diameter and the damping coefficient so on as parameters is also considered.
