Abstract
This paper describes machining properties of an oil on water machining fluid which is newly developed for the environmental issues. Comparatively large size water drops are covered with vegetable oil film and sprayed on a machining point with soft air jet in milling processes. In the machining tests, temperature rises and machining accuracy of products are measured and compared with flood emulsion and oil mist coolant systems. Experimental results show that the machined product with oil on water machining fluid has a sufficient accuracy nearer to that with flood emulsion coolant system.
