Fluid Film Lubrication by Bingham Viscoelastic Fluids : Analysis for Inclined Step Thrust Squeeze Bearings

Abstract

In this paper, the effects of Bingham viscoelastic rheology characteristics of lubricants on the performance of inclined step thrust squeeze bearings are clarified on the base of the modified Reynolds equation for the fluid film lubrication derived by considering the core formation due to both Bingham and viscoelastic characteristics.
