Abstract
This paper deals with the thermal stress problem of an infinite elastic solid with a rigid circular cylindrical inclusion. It is assumed that the temparature field is uniform in the solid. A method of solution is presented for the thermal stress problem by applying the fundamental solutions for axisymmetric problems of elasticity. Stress distributions around the inclusion are shown by numerical calculations.
