Abstract
Results of the Turbulence Transition and Flow Stoructures in a Slit-nozzle Free Jet (Re=800) are presented. A direct numerical simulation is used, based on the fourth-order central difference scheme for convection terms and the second-order Runge-Kutta method for time developing terms. Calculated results are verified by experimental turbulent characteristics. We examine the Turburence Transition and Flow Stoructures by calculated results. Velocity profiles, spectra, autocorrelations and time-spatial characteristics show the processes of merging vortices.
