Abstract

InterActor is the speech driven embodied entrainment character with communicative motion and action of speaker and listener for activating human interaction. In the role-playing of a patient and a nurse by students who belong to Department of Nursing, the communication effects of InterActor are evaluated in comparison with only voice communication and face-to-face communication for the application of InterActor to nursing. Sensory evaluation demonstrates that communication through InterActor is evaluated higher than only voice communication in the role of patient while it is almost the same effect in the role of nurse, and it is evaluated lower than face-to-face communication.
