Abstract
This report describes global PBL course of design which was shared over the network between Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Technology and Stanford University during the years 2000 and 2001. The assignment during this period was to detect the dangero us conditions of a driver. TMIT and Stanford team studied several methods for detecting physiological conditions of a driver as well as detecting dangerous body movements. As the former needs too expensive equipments, both teams came up with the feasible objective of detecting dangerous movements of a driver. Although the goal is coordinated and is the same between TMIT and Stanford teams, they developed different systems.
