Recently, to reduce the amount of energy consumption and to protect the earth environment, we had concentrated to develop dry and semi-dry machining. But in the case of cutting aluminum alloy, we could not establish efficient method of dry and semi-dry machining due to their high adhesive property. Authors had developed finely crystallized diamond coated tool, which have smooth surface and sharp cutting edge. Using these cutting tools, we had achieved remarkable effects in cutting aluminum alloys under dry and semi-dry condition.
