Simultaneous 6-axis control machining with a non-rotational tool is effective to create sharp corners and character lines, which cannot be machined with conventional rotational tools. However, the machining method is not necessarily efficient due to the small depth of cut and the low feed speed. On the other hand, the application of 5-axis control machining with rotational tools will be very effective in terms of the depth of cut and the feed speed. This paper proposes the highly efficient and accurate machining method using 6-axis control machining together with 5-axis control one, and discrives the generating method of cutting point data for each machining on the basis of 3-dimentional CAD data.
