Abstract
Material corrosion test was carried out for some steels exposed in flowing lead bismuth at the conditions where exposure time, temperature, flow rate, flow velocity, and oxygen potential were 1000h, 550℃, 31/min, 1m/s and 3.7×(10)^<-8>wt%, respectively. After the exposure, the steels were analyzed by SEM/EDX and etc. No trace of erosion was observed. Metal corrosion and oxidation were observed and those effects of Cr, W, and Si on corrosion behavior were investigated. It was found that the contents of Cr and W contributed to the film formation, and Si was effective to reduce the corrosion.
