Abstract
The acoustic emission (AE) technique is one of effective method for predictive diagnosis of rolling bearings. The technique can detect signals concerning subsurface damage earlier than other way such as vibration technique. However, it is influenced by tribological, mechanical and electrical noises. The discrimination of damage signals from the foregoing noises is very important in AE technique. We developed AE source location method and measurement method of time interval of AE generation for the discrimination, and examined validity of compound sensing method of AE and vibration in rolling contact fatigue tests. This paper describes our experimental results, a subject become clear by the results and future development on diagnosis of rolling bearing using AE technique.
