Abstract
Nowadays, Strain Wave Gearing is used in the indirect drive part of an industrial robot and the printing machine, in which high positioning accuracy is necessary. Seeing from the point of the reliability and the durability, the tooth root of the Flexible spline in Strain Wave Gearing is danger. In order to solve this problem, we have to learn the load distribution between the Flexible spline and the Circular spline. However, because the strain gage can not be pasted on the small Strain Wave Gearing, as a replacement, a large-size Strain Wave Gearing is used in this research, and this is proposed as a method for calculating the tooth root stress of any size Flexible spline. In this report, the load distribution on the tooth flank is derived by using the tooth root stress of the Circular spline which is not be influenced by the rim.
