Abstract
This study uses the Energy Flow Method, which calculates the energy flow of external forces in each motion, to analyze how motorcycle tandem riding affects straight-running stability. We specifically focus on weave mode stability. Tandem riding increases the stability of weave mode at medium speed. The external force generated by a passenger's upper body acceleration stabilizes rolling motion. Stabilizing rolling motion causes the external force generated by rolling acceleration to stabilize lateral and yawing motions. Finally, stability of weave mode is increased.
