Abstract
One of methods in order to estimate low cycle fatigue crack propagation is local approach to fracture based on continuum damage mechanics and finite element method. It is possible that this way can reduce analysis time and cost in the analysis of fatigue crack propagation. In present study, the numerical analysis on the behavior of circular cracks caused by cyclic thermal load was conducted by this method, and moreover, the mesh-dependence of the subject on this concept was considered. We proposed the solution of this problem and showed the validity by calculating the problem of fatigue crack propagation.
