Abstract
In this paper, impact shearing fracture behaviors of the interfacial crack in the bonded dissimilar materials were examined. The deformation and the strain near interfacial crack tip were examined by using the digital image correlation method for the analysis. The specimen configuration adopted the ENF specimen. High-speed video camera, YAG laser, and metal halide illumination device, and composition of experiment device used is PC, and falling weight type impact loading devices for data logging actual experiment. As a result, when the material in the upper part of specimens is brittle materials, crack propagates to upper materials. When the fracture toughness value of materials in the upper part of the specimen is higher than the fracture toughness value of the bonding layer, cracks propagate to interface. It has been understood that taking into consideration, and evaluating the fracture toughness value of the bonding layer are necessary in the fracture of the laminate.
