Abstract
Mechanics of cords under bending is important to understand the fatigue failure mechanism of rubber belt, because the fatigue damage is usually accumulated in the cords when the belt works. Especially, the effect of cord construction is the main factor on the improvement of cord fatigue life under cyclic bending conditions. In this study, the relation between the fatigue-failure initiation wire and the cord construction was discussed using FEM analysis. Especially, the effect of interaction between the wires on the stress initiation was discussed using two types of cord construction.
