Abstract

This Paper discusses practicable technique to determine the sensor location where the sensor detect bearing defect effectively. For this purpose, the characteristic of the vibration transfer is used. A simple model is assumed that the transmissibility of signal by defect is almost same as the impulse signal. By experiment, it is shown that the characteristic of the vibration transmission is used. The response of the vibration by bearing fault and the impulse response between bearing and housing are correlation. When the sensor is installed on the housing with a good transmission characteristic, detectability is high.
