Abstract

We analyzed poly(dA)・poly(dT) DNA molecular flow and adhesion process on two kind of inorganic substrates; mica and HOPG, by molecular dynamics simulation and an atomic force microscopy. It is clarified that Na^+ ions have important role to immobilize DNA on a SiO_2 substrate. A HOPG substrate however has weak interaction to DNA, and DNA does not anchor on a HOPG substrate in solution. We indicated that sticky ends of DNA are generated on both substrate, and are able to extend DNA chains. It is expected that the DNA chain form a well-known network structure with such a process.
