Abstract
Multi-directional forging is receiving attention as the integrated producing process to obtain uniform fine microstructure of Magnesium alloys. In this research, AZCa611 specimen was forged by multi-directional forging at 553〜523K (equivalent strain: 0.28〜2.0). The effects of heat-treating conditions and forging parameters on surface aspect and microstructure of the specimen were investigated. Obtained results are as follows: (1) By using multi-directional forging, mean grain size of 15μm was obtained. In addition, the fracture stress and the fracture strain increased (2) After forging, specimen was rolled. Mean grain size and duplex grain size degree decreased and mean grain size of 3μm was obtained.
