Abstract
Stress σ, strain ε and time t can be measured with the newly developed material test machine, called an intelligent universal test machine. This material test machine can measure the boundary of elasticity and plasticity of a material with an indistinguishable yield point. The relationship between stress and strain from the elastic region to the plastic region was obtained using an intelligence universal test machine with a formula derived employing another system. The results revealed that by using two coefficients and a power function, ε=Sσ^p can be derived. New discoveries of the strength of materials are being researched by making use of the above relational expression. In this study, a tensile test for S45C steel with an indistinguishable yield point was carried out using an intelligent universal test machine. The tensile stress caused by impact throughout the elastic region and the plastic region was calculated from the nominal stress by the intersection method.
